Exams and deadlines might be looming, but there’s plenty to look forward to on the other side. Here are 10 things to look out for this term...
Had enough of fighting with your flatmates about how long the heating can be on for? Looking for somewhere warm and calm to escape studying and the library? Hang out, relax and make yourself at home in one of the five SU Living Rooms on campus. SU Living Rooms in residences are open to everyone and will be hosting some relaxing events during the exam period.
We loved Welcome Week so much we thought we’d have a round two... Refreshers week will start on Sunday 26 January with the Refreshers Fair, followed by a week of different events and activities. There will also be student group Give it a Go sessions to get stuck into!
Come and explore diversity as a strength in the workplace from 27 January. In partnership with the Careers Service there will be a range of events to help you explore your future career with a focus on equality and diversity. Open to everyone but particularly relevant for students identifying as BAME, disabled, female, LGBTQ+, mature or from a widening participation background.
It’s that time of year again and EVERYONE is eligible to run for a role. Whether you want to lead the union as a full-time officer, or represent students by becoming a course rep, there’s a role for you. Nominations open on 27 January. Voting will be 10-12 March.
Celebrate the end of exam season, wave goodbye to the January blues and start off 6 Nations season in style with the Balloon Bar Beer Festival. From 30 January – 2 February the Balloon Bar will be showcasing some of the best local ales. Come and give them a try!
Sustainability is a big part of student life in Bristol, which is why our RAG, Volunteering and Sustainability Network will be hosting a series of events throughout February including a Richmond Lecture panel on Climate Change.

LGBT+ History Month is a month of remembrance, celebration, exploration and discussion. Following on from last year, there will be a number of events across the university and city throughout February to mark LGBT+ History Month.
Everyone’s favourite opportunity for discussion, democracy and pizza. Join us on Tuesday 25 February for your chance to improve your university experience and vote on Bristol SU policy. ALL students are welcome to attend and vote so come and make your voice heard.
Global Carnival is back this March! Join Bristol SU’s annual celebration of cultural diversity where we celebrate the cultural richness of our student body with food, performances and fashion.
