Welcome 2022

Welcome, also known as Freshers', is your introduction to student life at the University of Bristol.

Bristol SU hosts an official events programme including everything from plant-potting to club nights so that you can try different experiences and make new friends. Our Welcome programme is open to all University of Bristol students so you can get involved no matter which year you're in or what you're studying.

This year Welcome Week events will start on Sunday 18 September, and finish with our Welcome Fair on Friday 23 September. We will be releasing our full events programme and all tickets on A-Level Results Day (Thursday 18 August). Any Freshers / Welcome tickets you see on sale now are for unofficial events - we strongly advise waiting until official tickets are released on 18 Aug to buy yours.

The Welcome Fair is our biggest event of the year and is your opportunity to sign up to our different student groups, get some freebies and kickstart your academic year.

We're currently planning everything that's going to happen, but if you want to be the first to know then you can sign-up for updates below or join our Official Facebook group.

When will tickets go on sale?

Bristol SU runs the official events programme for University of Bristol students. We will release all of our event tickets on Thursday 18 August 2022.

Do you sell wristbands?

All of our event tickets will be sold individually, so you can build your perfect Welcome experience. We will not be selling event wristbands. Any sellers of Freshers or Welcome wristbands are not endorsed by Bristol SU and are not part of the official programme.

Will you have non-drinking events?

Yes! We know club night events and events that involve alcohol aren't for everyone, so we have a really comprehensive events programme which includes plenty of non-drinking events.

Can postgraduate students get involved?

Yes! Here at Bristol, Welcome is for everyone so it doesn't matter what you're studying or which year you are in. We'll be running some events specifically for postgraduate students, but you're welcome to get involved in everything.

How can I meet other students coming to Bristol?

If you'd like to start a conversation with other students before you arrive, then you can join our Official University of Bristol Freshers and Offer Holders Group.

What is the Welcome Fair?

The Welcome Fair is our biggest event of the year! This is where you can meet our societies, sports clubs and volunteering projects. You'll also be able to buy official University of Bristol merchandise, and get offers and freebies from our commercial partners. It's the best way to find our what you can get involved with throughout your time in Bristol.

How can I join clubs and societies?

The best way to meet all of our student groups is to come along to the Welcome Fair on Friday 23 September. You can also join our groups online.
