Edinburgh Fringe has the widest array of creativity the summer will see. Between the 2nd and 26th of August, the Scottish capital transforms. With art and performance around every corner, it's a mish-mash of creative genius and artistic spark. Thousands of performers have a stage, no matter the taste or theme. Student groups from across the UK make their way to the city each year to perform, and Bristol isn’t any different! This year there are five performance groups from Bristol SU travelling up to put on a huge variety of shows.
If you’re after comedy, check out any of the 4 shows hosted by our student groups. Performing stand up and sketch comedy, we have the Bristol Revunions shows 'Roadtrip' or 'Party'. Likewise, the team from Bristol Improv are putting on 'Dynamite!' or 'Offscript!' for you to enjoy. All our comedians have stellar reviews from Bristol and Edinburgh alike, so don't miss out! With two shows each running across the Fringe, there’ll be ample chance to grab a seat and have a laugh.
A Capella is also sending up various groups with excellent music and choreography. ICCA finalists AcadePitch are putting on a musical performance of Romeo and Juliet. If you fancy an A Capella Tragedy watch two of our excellent groups, Academy and Pitch Fight, join forces. But don't forget they'll only be running in the last week of the Fringe, so plan your trip accordingly!
You can also snag a seat to watch the multi-award winning Bristol Suspensions. They'll be running their own show from the 12th of August ('Aca-rrested: Behind Bars'), but they'll be joining up with musicians from accross the country for a one off A Capella Showcase on the 11th. Don’t miss out on tickets - they’ve had full sell-out runs in Fringe before, and may well do it again!
Last but most definitely not least, grab a ticket to see Bristol PantoSoc if you fancy a properly iconic show. They're putting on 'Shakespeare! The Panto' on select dates throughout the Fringe. With amazing reviews already flying in from Epigram and Inter:Mission, it’s not a show to miss.
No matter what performance you fancy, Edinburgh Fringe is bound to have it. If you get a chance to visit and fancy cracking performances, say hi to your Bristol peers. It's a great chance to show support while seeing some quality acts that are more than worth your time. Avoid disappointment and grab tickets before you go!
