Hello! It’s time for the next officer digest. Our key update relating to any events, campaigns or news from the last couple of weeks is as follows:
Officers attended the first Student Council of the year, which was co-chaired by Ifrah. Lu and Seb presented a motion on the SU’s response to University Industrial Action which has now passed and will become active policy. The meeting wrapped up with quick fire updates from each the officers.
You can find out more about all the motions and amendments that passed at Student Council here.
Strikes have been happening from Wednesday 1 December - Friday 3 December, with Action Short of a Strike (ASOS) set to go on indefinitely for the five months staff have a mandate to take industrial action for.
Last week, we took a motion to Student Council to hear from elected representatives about how students feel about the upcoming industrial action and to make sure that the SU puts student needs at the heart of our response.
Results of the vote on our Student Council motion have come through and students have voted to pass the motion, with amendments. You can view the amended motion here.

We're excited that it's now been announced that delayed graduations will take place in the Wills Memorial Building.
We know there have been strong opinions on where these graduations are being held from graduating students.
Our officer team have also been advocating for students to be able to continue graduating from the Wills building and we're pleased the University have listened to student voices on this matter. Find out more about upcoming ceremonies here.
We know that students have been asking for more space, that’s why we're super excited to announce the opening of the SU Living Room Extension! The Extension is located at Senate House and includes a Sensory room for students with accessibility needs.
Ifrah has also been working with the University to try and extend Senate House opening hours and accessibility over the weekend.
Lu celebrated her birthday, Ruth had some fun in the sun on their holiday in Naples and Leah, Muazam and Seb hosted Sabbatical Officers from Portsmouth Students Unions on their Officer national tour!
