International Students' Officer Announcement

Friday 13-05-2022 - 11:00

Due to unexpected circumstances, Trevor Ntutu, your International Students’ Officer for 2022-23 is no longer able to take up the role and has had to withdraw from the officer team.

Following his withdrawal, our elections team have taken advice from NUS (National Union of Students) and our trustees to manage the process to recruit an International Students’ Officer elect for the upcoming year.

We took the decision to run a recount of the election (as if Trevor had not been a candidate and therefore all his preference votes reallocated) to see the outcome. Both the remaining candidates agreed to this process, and we worked closely with them to help them make decisions about their future and whether they would be available.

On this basis, the next available and eligible candidate to take up the role is Hassan Al-Nabulsi who will be joining the officer team in June as the new International Students’ Officer.

I’m really looking forward to starting the role of International Students’ Officer in June with the rest of the new officer team. Although this was unexpected, I’m excited to represent International Students next year and work on my manifesto points to engage, motivate and support our international student body. - Hassan

The new officer team will begin their roles on Monday 13 June and we’re looking forward to them joining us.
