Staff in the Bristol SU Just Ask academic advice team are celebrating today for successfully passing the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing free, independent advice to members of the public.
Bristol SU Just Ask advice team offer a free, impartial advice service for University of Bristol Students. They specialise in academic advice such as appeals, extenuating circumstances and changing course.
Becky White, Just Ask Team Leader said ‘We are so pleased to have been awarded the AQS as it shows students and the rest of the university community that we are working to the best possible professional standards. The Just Ask team have worked very hard to achieve the AQS and we will make sure we now maintain these high standards.’
The AQS is awarded by the national umbrella group, the Advice Services Alliance. The ASA Director Lindsey Poole said: ‘The AQS is a tough benchmark to achieve, particularly in challenging times for the charity sector and we offer our congratulations to Bristol SU Just Ask for so clearly making the grade.’
The AQS measures advice organisations against a set of prescribed standards on the policies and procedures which are necessary for the provision of good quality advice.
Just Ask is joining a community of over 650 organisations across the country of AQS holders.
