Bristol Malayalam Society is a cultural society created primarily to celebrate the vibrant and unique culture of the South Indian state of Kerala. It aims to support new Malayali and non-Malayali students with a home away from home through providing them with all the assistance required to settle in new country.
European Horizons – Bristol Chapter is the place for you if you would like to start publishing in an academic journal, write policy papers and learn about the European Union and transatlantic relations. They take part in annual policy competitions, organise speaker events and provide an opportunity to work with a European policy specialist. There are many events in Europe and the US which they can visit, and many societies in other European universities, with which they can cooperate.
Meet them at their next Sunday brunch social to discuss politics and have some coffee. They hope to see you there!
German Society provide you with the chance to share your enthusiasm for everything German. Whether you are studying German, from Germany, want to learn the language or even if you just take an interest in the occasional Currywurst, they are open to everyone. They host a wide variety of activities including Kaffee und Kuchen, music nights and potentially trips to German speaking cities. Not to mention many other multi-language events such as modern languages formals and club nights!
International Law Society aims to educate and raise awareness of different international legal and political issues and how they relate to the wider world, with a deeper focus on the legal perspective. They hold discussions about current news topics and how they relate to international law. They also focus on employability in the sector and how to go about pursuing it as a career. The international law society welcomes students from all years and degree disciplines, as there are many students who are not sure of their career path and want to explore their options further.
Saudi Society aim to assist their members who would like to learn about Saudi Arabian culture and history. They also wish to establish a welcoming environment for Saudi students, delivering a better image for students who are interested in visiting and working in the country. By fulfilling their aims and goals, the Saudi society's major vision is to enhance their members' academic, cultural, and social lives.
Social Policy Society is a community where this degree cohort can participate in both academic and recreational activities. They are keen to listen to and act on the needs of their members in the initially proposed forms of study groups, guest speakers, pub quizzes and other social outings/nights around Bristol. These vocal and passionate students are bound to provide an amazing atmosphere in such future events!
Theatre Studies Departmental Society is the essential society for anyone studying single or joint honours theatre, but they are open to anyone who enjoys theatre! They run regular socials, including theatre trips and pub crawls, as well as more academically minded activities such as networking events and alumni talks. They strive to build a community of theatre lovers and provide peer support systems with their family scheme.
