Happy New Year! Well done on getting through the first term. It’s the first week back and exams have started. I just want to wish you all the best of luck with your exams and assignments over the next couple of weeks. Here are a few tips and things you should be aware of:
If there has been any disruption to your studies, from September until now, and you want the Exam Board to take it into consideration, remember to submit extenuating circumstances. You can find the extenuating circumstances form online.
Contact your school office as soon as possible if you cannot attend an exam for any reason. If you're unable to attend an exam due to illness and choose to self-certificate, you must take the exam at the next time it is scheduled. This will during 're-sit' period in August/September. There is no penalty for self-certificating (re-sit is uncapped). It is up to you to determine if you are well enough to sit an exam.
If your timetable has been released, check the time of your exam on your individual examinations timetable. Clicking on the venue name in your timetable will give a Google Map. Further information about some exam venues can be found on the exam venues page.
Make sure you've got your student UCard. You are required to bring it to all your examinations and display it on your desk, so an invigilator can check it.
Just Ask is an impartial advice service based at the SU. If you're worried about your exams you can contact Bristol SU Just Ask for advice.
The University is bringing in a new policy this year that will enable students to access their exam scripts after results have been released. It may take until May/June for full implementation across the institution. Ensure you contact your school to find out if this service is available to you for these January exams.
Remember, if you have any queries or questions drop me an email!
Good Luck!
