We support the students who have organised the march for mental health. Like us, they are concerned and passionate about making sure the university experience is as supportive as possible.
Student mental health is one of our key priorities this year, especially culturally competent services that understand the diverse needs of students. We really value the services that exist at the university, and the people who work for them. We’ve been working with students and the University and we are all pulling for positive change. Let’s make sure it happens.
If you feel like you could benefit from additional support, or are affected by any of the issues that the march will be covering, here are some services that can help you:
Doctor - Contact your doctor's surgery and request an emergency appointment.
If your doctor's surgery is not open, contact the NHS Out of Hours Medical Service on 111. It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones. If you are not registered with a doctor in Bristol, you can attend an NHS walk-in centre.
NHS Mental health crisis team
The crisis team can help you if your mental health is at breaking point. You might have already been diagnosed with a mental health problem, or this might be the first time you have had a mental health problem. The service is available 24 hours a day and will support you if your mental health is in crisis.
