DMA’s have come a long way since they began jamming in their inner-western Sydney home and they’re now going one step further; visiting Bristol as part of their World Tour 2018. The indie trio will play for one night only at the Anson Rooms on Wednesday 5th December; flaunting the gloriously uplifting sound of their new album, ‘For Now’. Made up of vocalist Tommy O’Dell and guitarists Matt Mason and Johnny Took, the group are supported by a three piece backing band.
The second album sees the amalgamation of their previous guitar driven singles alongside the organic evolution of lead singer Tommy O’Dell’s vocals
Following performances at festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella and Fuji Rock, the group’s album debuted inside the top 10 on the ARIA charts, with a blend of pop hooks, indie rock and Oasis-style attitude. The new album does feature some more electric sounds, but December’s concert is sure to include hits such as ‘Lay Down’ and ‘In the Moment’ from their 2016 debut album ‘Hills End’.
Continuing to gain popularity through gigging and a collection of gloriously uplifting and passionate songs, the second album sees the amalgamation of their previous guitar driven singles alongside the organic evolution of lead singer Tommy O’Dell’s vocals. This is set against the backdrop of the strident, hook-heavy Britpop influences along with their signature optimistic beats.
Of particular note is their new single ‘Dawning’ which captures the spirit and fervour of the early Stones Roses, whilst keeping true to the band’s own distinct sound. Going from strength to strength whilst simultaneously growing their fan base, it must be fair to say that this group are one of the most exciting indie rock bands around at the moment and promise a scrappy yet thoughtful rawness that is encapsulated in their frantic set list.
