Friendly Fires will return to the live music scene on 1 December at the Anson Rooms for a very special Bristol SU Live/ In:Motion gig. They will be touring the nations best loved club venues, showcasing new singles 'Love Like Waves' and Disclosure collaboration 'Heaven Let Me In'.
Ethereal sytnths and electric beats place Friendly Fires back in their rightful place in the mainstream of indie-funk
The summer of 2018 saw friendly Fires return to the music scene – both in a recording and live performance capacity – after a hiatus which left many people wondering if they were coming back at all. With the sounds of 2011’s Pala barely audible in the memories of fans world wide, Friendly Fires dropped their comeback single ‘Love Like Waves’ earlier this year. It received widespread acclaim, proving that they hadn’t just not lost the touch that made songs like ‘Paris’ and ‘Jump in the Pool’ instant hits, they’ve refined it. It was playlisted on Radio 1, with the ethereal synths and electric beats placing the band back in their rightful position in the mainstream of indie-funk.
Friendly Fires spent the summer touring their highest profile festival appearances to date, including Festival No 6, Lost Village and Truck Festival. Days before the announcement of their UK tour of some of the country’s best love club venues, Friendly Fires also released their new single Heaven Let Me In, which was co-produced by Disclosure. This set the tone for their tour, which will be just as much a party as a gig, as they play four intimate gigs between Newcastle, London and Bristol.
The band will play an unmissable gig hosted by In:Motion in the Anson Rooms on the 1 December, with some very special guests in tow. You can find out more here and buy your tickets here.
