After a huge success at this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Festival, and back for his fifth nationwide tour, Hal Cruttenden brings his new, highly anticipated stand-up show ‘Chubster’ to the Anson Rooms here at Bristol SU. 

Cruttenden is one of the most notable stand up comedians working in the UK today, as well as being a highly accomplished writer and actor. He has toured extensively regularly appearing at comedy clubs around the country, and in the last few years he has taken shows to the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the New Zealand Comedy Festival. ‘Chubster; will Deliver a wonderful evening of scandalous comedy, executed with a charismatic ease of a longstanding performer. Expect Hal’s usual brand of bubbly but cynical comedy that has seen him feature on TV favourites like The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Have I Got News for You and even Live at the Apollo.

‘Chubster’ – a title chosen by Hal’s two teenage daughters, brings Hal’s familiarly hilarious anecdotes about UK culture to Bristol SU. Expect musings on politics and equality from gun control to Brexit, and the decline of the liberal elite, alongside witty observations about family life with two teenage girls and a healthy measure of embarrassing dad-dancing to Frozen’s well loved ‘Let it Go’.

Hal’s signature lovable, outrageous stage personality allows him to explore difficult subjects, pushing the boundaries over the ‘too far’ line without ever becoming confrontational, offensive or too serious.
