Two titans of comedy, Arab-American stand-up comedian Mo Amer and British actor, writer, and comedian Guz Khan, come to the Anson Rooms at Bristol SU on Saturday 6 April.
Expect a hilarious night of razor-sharp, irreverent observational and political comedy. You may have seen Mo - who once sat next to Eric Trump on a long-distance flight - on his Netflix special, ‘Vagabond’ which hilariously recounts his life as a refugee comic, his long path to citizenship and traveling with the name Mohammed. Born in Kuwait to Palestinian parents, and becoming a US citizen in 2009, Amer has made a huge impact on the American comedy scene, most notably as part of comedy troupe “Allah Made Me Funny” and touring with stand-up giant Dave Chappelle. This could be your last chance to see Mo in the UK for a while, so don't sleep on it!
Guz Khan – once a secondary school teacher in his hometown of Coventry – is famous for his character Mobeen, whose online comedy shorts quickly made it from YouTube to our television screens. Fans of his BBC Three show “Man Like Mobeen” will be familiar with his hilarious observations of life as a Muslim man in the UK - turning racial profiling into side-splitting hilarity. The future only looks brighter for Guz. Expect to see him in some of 2019’s best programming – whether as part of the cast for the Hulu remake of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, starring alongside Idris Elba in ‘Turn Up Charlie’ on Netflix, or as a regular in Sky drama ‘Curfew’. Don’t miss out on this chance to see him live!
Mo Amer and Guz Khan have joined forces to tour the UK on their Persons of Interest Tour with limited dates.
