The Anson Room Bar has seen a lot of laughs already this term and it looks like there’s no sign of it stopping. This week's Comedy Season brings you the talent of Eshaan Akbar, Neil O'Rourke and Fin Taylor. Want to find out a bit more before grabbing yourself a ticket? Have no fear, all you need to know is below.

Eshaan Akbar

This is a comedian with an eclectic history. From working in wealth management, to writing for The Guardian, to even performing in and choreographing over 50 Bollywood dances, Akbar has always excelled in what he does. And now, he’s taking the comedy world by storm. Despite only starting his comedy career in 2014, he has been a finalist in both “So You Think You’re Funny” and “Laughing Horse” and performed, with great success, at festivals across the UK. AND, as if this wasn’t enough, Eshaan has also been tour support for both Dane Baptiste and Micky Flanagan. After all this, it’s not hard to see why he has been praised as a comedian who is ‘clearly going places.’ We’re just glad one of those places can be Bristol SU.

Neil O’Rourke

Known for a joke that details his own experience of being mugged by a man brandishing a rat, you can’t help but get a good feeling about this Irish comedian. His likeable, anecdotal style has got the Comedy world talking and just like his fellow talent, Eshaan Akbar, O’Rourke has also been a finalist in all the important comedy shows, including “So You Think You’re Funny”. Sounds to us like O’Rourke is not one to be missed. 

Fin Taylor

Fin Taylor began performing stand-up whilst at Bristol University in January 2009. That’s right, Bristol University. Fin Taylor is coming home. This is one exciting comedian, and we’re not just saying that because we’re biased. Dubbed as ‘gleefully provocative’, Taylor has found his niche as a comedian who ‘delicately satirises, explores and explodes white privilege’. His show, Whitey McWhiteface, in which he talks ethical porn and human cuisine, was praised as ‘a striking set’ which made you ‘laugh hard’. We have every faith we’ll be laughing just as hard at the gig this December.
