SU Awards 2018

Friday 13-04-2018 - 10:00

Bristol SU’s biggest night of the year is COMING SOON!

You may be mistaken thinking it’s Welcome Week, Score or perhaps even Varsity but oh no my friend… it’s the night we celebrate and congratulate our amazing students and all their achievements.

The Bristol SU Awards is our annual celebration of Bristol’s students and staff that have done an extraordinary job in making the University of Bristol a great place to work and study.

Every student, or staff member can nominate who they think deserves to be recognised for their achievements in 2017. You can nominate as many people as you like for the SU Awards 2018 until 4 May.

Here are some of the awards we think would be fun...

  1. Collaboration Award – Beyonce & Jay Z On The Run II

Beyonce has collaborated with Jay Z in many ways over the years from Crazy in Love, 3 children and now their second World Tour! That’s some major team work – respect!

  1. Academic Representative Award – Stephen Hawkins

Stephen Hawkins inspired, educated and provided ground breaking research and thoughts. He was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author, and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. He did all of this whilst living with motor neurone disease.

“I have no idea. People who boast about their IQ are losers.” – Stephen Hawkins

  1. Sustainability Award – Waitrose

Waitrose have announced that they are getting rid of reusable cups for their FREE tea and coffee. This will reduce usage by 52 million cups a year which is 221 tonnes of waste!
