We’ve got a full lineup of club nights planned throughout the week which promise to be showstopping. The Welcome Week International Food Festival is now entering its third successful year. The festival is presented in collaboration by our international, cultural and food societies alongside the best selection of local food vendors, giving you the chance to try delicacies from all over the world as well as some more local to your doorstep.
Bristol has a buzzing food scene and the food festival is a great introduction to what's on offer around the city. Not only that, but it will be a chance to meet our societies for the first time and find out more about and how you can get involved. Come along, get involved and leave with a full belly, rather than a sore head.
When - Thursday 27 September, 11am
Where - Anson Rooms
The Anson Rooms will transform into a vintage emporium as we takeover with the vintage Kilo sale. Channel your inner chic and pick up some new garms that’ll make you stand out. Whether you’re searching for something in particular or just fancy a browse to brighten up your wardrobe, there will be plenty to pick from at the Kilo Sale.
The Kilo Sale will be taking place on the same day as Club Tropicana at Motion, so if club nights are your thing, this is the perfect way to bag yourself some wavey garms ahead of the event.
When - Wednesday 26 September, 11am
Where - Balloon Bar
Swap tequila shots for espresso shots as we tour the very best cafes that Bristol has to offer. Bristol has a great and ever increasing cafe scene with independent cafes, brunch offerings and local coffee roasters on every corner. You can choose how far you want to cast your net with one of four routes of varying length, across the city. You’ll be provided with a keep cup at the meet point, which you can take with you on the tour. What better way to meet new people, explore the city and get your bearings than over a nice cup of coffee (or tea)!
When - Monday 24 September, 11am
Where - Balloon Bar
There are few other places in the UK with as strong a connection to street art as Bristol. Birthplace of famous street artist, Banksy, you don’t have to go far here to come across a mural decorating one of the city’s walls. Banksy made his name here and now has left behind him a wake of new street artists who continue his legacy. Today, there are over 200 street artists and graffiti writers in Bristol and this tour will feature some highlights of their work across the city. The Street Art tour is a great opportunity to learn more about Bristol as a city and to get out of the uni bubble.
