As part of Varsity 2017-18, we encourage a friendly rivalry between #TeamUWE and #WeAreBristol, but this friendly atmosphere is getting tense with a 1-1 draw so far. This means Varsity Day will determine the winner and hopefully #WeAreBristol will maintain the trophy and bring it home.
Lets give you a break down of what's happened so far…
Darts - Bristol Win
American Football - UWE Win
It currently stands at 1 - 1.
You’re probably thinking, but what about Netball and Lacrosse? Ah well… these matches have happened but the points have not yet been decided as more matches need to be played!
UWE narrowly beat Bristol at Netball with a score of 36-30 but Team UWE haven’t secured the point just yet and it will all be determined at Varsity Day on 21st March.
The tension develops even further because #WeAreBristol dominated in Lacrosse so it’s all to play for leading up to Varsity Basketball and Varsity Day!
Competition aside, being active in a sport is a great tool not only for a personal physical health but also mental. That’s why Varisty are working in collaboration with SugarSmart Bristol healthy living choices amongst young people, this year’s Varsity Series will also be raising money for local mental health and wellbeing charity Off the Record.
Not taking part in Varsity? Always wanted to have a go at Total Wipeout? This is the perfect opportunity as there’s a brand new Total Varsity Wipeout event on the 25th April, which will see participants compete in teams across a variety of both dry and slippery giant inflatables.
Come and show your support for #WeAreBristol!
