Varsity Week 2 - what's in store?

Monday 20-03-2017 - 13:42

We’ve had a great start to the Varsity Series!

Last week Bristol reined in the points at the Annual Boat Race, and took the lead in the first cycling event of the Series. Our sports teams also raised a whopping £14,000 for Above & Beyond with the ignit10n launch! As a result of their efforts a sysmex blood analyser will be placed in the one of the local Bristol hospitals. What an incredible achievement!

We’ve got another big week ahead. Read on below to see what we’ve got in store!

The Colour Run - Wednesday 22 March

Brand new to the Varsity Series, this week students and alums take over UWE campus in an explosion of colour.

At just 4k, this event is suitable for runners of all experience levels, from the novice to the seasoned pavement-pounder. It’s not too late to participate. Join the event page here.

Darts - Thursday 23 March

Join us for what promises to be the most nail-biting event of the season, where just millimeters could determine who takes home the Varsity points, as Bristol go arrow to arrow against the UWE darts.

Whatever the result, it’s sure to be a great night, with a professional compére, live feed to multiple TV screens around the venue, discounted food and drink, fancy dress prizes and an after party thrown in as well.

Grab your tickets here.

Friday Night Lights - Friday 24 March

For first time we’re combining the classic American Football event with Lacrosse, bringing an all-American sports extravaganza to the West Country. Make sure you don't miss out!

Could this be the year Bristol Barracuda’s finally overturn the UWE Bullets?

Get your tickets now to be in on the action.

Basketball - Sunday 26 March

See the UWE Jets Basketball team go head-to-head against the Bristol University Basketball Club in a fast-paced game where it will be all to play for!

Tickets can be found here.

Last year’s event went down truly as a nail-biting sizzler of a classic, in the most electric of atmospheres. With only 750 seats available… a sea of half red and half maroon, this event is sure to sell out, so get in there early and whatever you do, don’t forget to don the Bristol colours!
