We’ve got a fantastic lineup of events to make your welcome to Bristol the best ever. We’re kicking off the first weekend as we mean to go on - introducing a few series of events that will continue throughout Welcome Week and one massive moving in party too. Read on for what not to miss your very first days in Bristol. 

 

Film Club presents: Moonlight

Winston Theatre, 22/09
Come and acquaint yourself with Bristol SU’s very own Winston Theatre. We’ll  be screening the critically acclaimed Moonlight to kick of our Welcome Week Film Club series. Winner of the Oscar for Best Picture and Golden Globe for best motion picture, Moonlight tells the story of Black-American Chiron through the seminal years of his life from young adolescence to young adult. At times heartbreaking, at others uplifting, Moonlight is not to be missed. Buy tickets here.

 

Disabled Students Mingle and Student Houses Mingle

Throughout Welcome Week and into the beginning of term the Bristol SU Networks will be hosting mingles that any student who identifies with the network is welcome to attend. Networks at Bristol SU represent various groups of students who hold forums, run campaigns and host socials throughout the year. They are a chance to find like minded students and have your say on the things that matter to you. The first mingles of Welcome Week 2018 will be the Disabled Students Mingle and the Student Houses Mingle, both are a great chance to meet new and existing members of the respective networks and find out a bit more about what they do once term kicks off. 

 

Film Club: The Chinese Society presents A Chinese Odyssey (Double Bill)

Winston Theatre, 23/09 
Film Club continues on Sunday with a special screening hosted by the Chinese Society. This six hour double bill will transport you far into the world of Chinese mythology. Featuring slapstick comedy and tragedy in equal measure A Chinese Odyssey is a classic of its genre that will have you glued to the screen. It’s also a chance to meet the Chinese Society and its new and existing members. Buy tickets here.

 

#HelloBristol Full Moon Party

SWX, 22/09 and 23/09
We’re kicking off the night time programme at SWX with an unmissable, UV fueled opening party. SWX has long led the way for the biggest club nights in Bristol and now it’s time to paint it neon. The party will be spread over three rooms and glowsticks and UV face paints will be provided.  Spread over two nights, this is your chance to really say #HelloBristol at the Official Welcome Week moving in party.
