Bristol SU’s Climate Emergency Day of Action will take place on Friday 26 February. This is the finale of Sustainability Month which runs throughout February. We have been busy interviewing keynote speakers for the day of action, and have been working with the university to plan workshops around securing a sustainable graduate job!
Ruth and Jason have been working with the university to ensure that proper procedures are put in place to support students in debt. Ruth and David have also been working with the university to discuss how they can give greater visibility to their hardship funds.
Roy successfully persuaded the University to extend the funding for COVID tests for students returning to the UK after the winter break. Roy, David, and Leah secured an agreement for alternative start times for students attending online exams in different time zones as part of the wider academic mitigations package.
Following the package of academic mitigations we won, the Education Network are hosting a forum next week on assessment feedback and to organise for further academic mitigations. Students can sign up to join the 3 February event here.
We have been working with the university to improve personal tutoring for students. We have drafted a paper with a range of recommendations, including changes to personal tutor training, improved pathways to access your personal tutor, and embedding personal tutorials within student timetables.
