1- It’s an amazing opportunity to give back to local charitable causes.
RAG is the charity fundraising arm of the SU, we raise thousands each year for local charitable causes - having an immeasurably large impact on those that rely on our charities.
2 - You can take part in or even plan events that are truly once in a lifetime!
Every Year RAG runs 2 huge sponsored charity hitchhikes! In fact you can sign up for our next one now! 36 hours with no money for transport, how far do you think you could get? Jailbreak is happening on the 6th April so definitely grab yourself a ticket! We have an info talk this Tuesday if you still need some convincing.
3 - RAG is a large community, it’s a great way to meet new people.
RAG has a 17 strong committee and over 50 RAG reps that help raise thousands for our partner charities. RAG is a friendly community and have regular socials for all our volunteers!
4 - The Casino Nights are really fun!
RAG has a well established student ran casino service that gets hired out at all the Biggest Formal events at the University. In the past we’ve been to Goldney’s Summer Ball, Manor Hall Formals, Wills Hall Formals and many more places!
5 - You have the freedom to be creative with ideas and a group of people that will help you make those ideas come to life.
The Naked Calendar, Battle of the Bands, Charity Hitchhikes, a Casino; all hugely successful fundraising ideas that have came out of the RAG! If you’ve got ideas like these that you want to see come to life, then RAG is the place for you!
