Belonging, Connection and Community Research

Belonging Connection and Community.

About the Research

We’re doing some research on your sense of belonging, how you form connections and the University of Bristol community. No matter what year you’re in, what subject you study, where you’re from, or who you hang out with, we want to make sure we’re offering you the right services and support to make the most of your time here.

This is the first time we’ll have done a dedicated piece of research of this size on this topic, and we want to make sure that we’ve heard from as many students as possible.

How can I get involved?

We’re running a survey from 14 - 28 March to find out as much as we can about your sense of belonging, how you form connections and the University of Bristol community. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is open to all students. There will be a prize draw open to everyone who completes it.

You can complete the survey here: bristolsu.org.uk/belonging

The next phase of the research will involve focus groups and individual interviews to help us further explore different themes which have come out of the survey.

You can sign up to take part in our focus groups when completing the survey.

What will you do with the results?

We’ll be using the results of the research to shape what Bristol SU and the University does to improve your experience. The results will directly impact our strategic planning at Bristol SU, and will influence the University’s Student Experience Programme.

We’ll publish the results this summer, alongside recommendations for next steps.
